Investment Never Looked Better

A nine-member Taiwanese delegation arrived on Saint Lucia this week to seek business opportunities particularly in the area of manufacturing, consumer electronics, agro-processing and textiles.

Hosted by the Department of Commerce, Industry, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs, the delegation attended a consultative forum with potential joint venture partners from the local business community.

A number of local agencies including the Saint Lucia Manufacturers Association and Invest Saint Lucia (ISL) were also in attendance to respond to queries and facilitate discussions as it relates to doing business in Saint Lucia. Following the consultation, the delegation toured various sites including St. Lucia Distillers as well as ISL's industrial estates in Dennery and Vieux-Fort.

Members of the contingent, some of whom are interested in the establishing independent business ventures, were sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and will be on island until August 10th.

The consultation was held at the Bay Gardens Hotel.
