Investment Never Looked Better

The Department of Commerce, International Trade, Investment, Enterprise Development, & Consumer Affairs is once again collaborating with a number of affiliate agencies and business support organisations to present the annual Business Month, slated for November, under the theme - Promoting an Entrepreneurial Culture Through Innovation & Creativity.

Into its third year, Business Month takes on the approach of encouraging a mindset of entrepreneurship to members and would-be members of the local business community.

The stated objectives of the event include creating an awareness of the functions of the Department of Commerce and its affiliate agencies; creating a culture of innovation and creativity among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs); celebrating the achievements of businesses (MSMEs); showcasing  the products/services of businesses (MSMEs); generating discussion on Entrepreneurship in Saint Lucia; showing the relationship between entrepreneurship and job creation; showcasing functions of affiliate agencies and their plans to foster business development and sustainability; highlighting the support path of business development from start-up to export.

Among the proposed activities for this year’s Business Month is a workshop on Digital Graphics, a secondary schools’ debating competition, a finance and equity symposium, a business finance workshop and the launch of the Southern Business Association. The month-long event will culminate with the annual Taiwanese Expo which is in its tenth year.
